About the Role:
We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and mentor a team of engineers ranging from junior to technical lead levels. This role is an opportunity to provide technical direction, foster a high-performance engineering culture, and contribute hands-on to our healthcare technology ecosystem.
You will be a strategic leader who balances people management with technical expertise, ensuring our team delivers scalable, high-quality solutions that drive impactful healthcare outcomes.
What You'll Do:
* Lead and manage a team of engineers, fostering growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.
* Set and drive the technical direction of projects, aligning with business objectives and industry best practices.
* Play a hands-on role in software architecture and system design, guiding engineers through complex technical challenges.
* Oversee the implementation of software components, replatforming efforts, and the support of global expansion initiatives.
* Balance technical debt management with the development of new features and Greenfield projects.
* Partner with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and stakeholders, to drive innovation and execution.
* Ensure the team adheres to best practices in coding, testing, and software development lifecycle processes.
* Act as a mentor and coach, helping engineers grow in their careers while promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
* Champion the adoption of modern technologies and tools to improve efficiency and system reliability.
About You:
You are a strategic and hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, passionate about building and scaling high-performing engineering teams. You bring:
* 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
* Strong technical expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, React, and cloud platforms like AWS.
* Experience with system architecture, microservices, and distributed systems in a SaaS environment.
* A track record of delivering scalable, maintainable, and high-quality software solutions.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate trade-offs in technical decisions.
* Strong people management abilities, with a focus on mentoring, career development, and performance management.
* Pragmatism in balancing hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
