Title: COMBINED HEAT AND POWER TECHNICIAN Contract Duration/Employment Type: Permanent Location: Ballyragget, Kilkenny Hybrid/Onsite: Primarily onsite Working Pattern (Time/Hours): 39 Overview of the role: The Combined Heat and Power Technician position is a permanent, on-site role at a gas turbine powered power plant and boiler house. Please note that there may be opportunities to work at other locations as needed. As part of this position, the successful candidate will be included in an on-call roster, alternating every other week with the contract manager. This role involves completing daily tasks while ensuring the safe operation of all plants. Responsibilities include reporting to the contract manager, managing and directing contractors working with specialised plant equipment on-site or via phone, and utilising on-site SCADA systems. Please also note, on occasion, after hours site attendance may be required. General Day to Day of the role; Very strong focus on safety in all activities. Planned maintenance, as assigned. Boiler water quality testing. Energy meter readings across electrical and steam raising plant. Monitoring plant efficiencies. Processing work control documentation for both internal and contractor assigned tasks. General housekeeping and stores management. Rostered on call, usually One week in Two alternating with the contract manager Role requirements: Trades person, Mech or Elec with experience in working with steam or electricity. Being available to participate in the out of hours on-call and attend site out of hours including weekends as the need arises. Experience and knowledge of water treatment chemicals and testing.
