Job Title: Psychologist 12 months Fixed Term Contract, Full-time 35 hours per week Location: National Learning Network - Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal About the Role: The purpose of the Psychologist role is to develop and implement psychological interventions that meet individual service-users' needs by providing holistic assessment and direct support and guidance to service-users and staff alike. What We're Looking For: Master's or Doctorate in Psychology, recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). Eligible for Chartered membership with PSI or the British Psychological Society. Minimum 3 years of experience in Learning Disability, Autism, Mental Health, or Physical/Sensory Disability. Understanding of the Recovery Approach and Person-Centred Planning is an advantage. Strong IT, organisational, and time management skills. Key Skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build positive internal and external relationships. Knowledge of disability and the role of training and employment in personal development. Professional, confident, and boundary-aware approach. Your Responsibilities: Support Planning Help students/service users identify personal goals, needs, and plans. Support Individual Action Plans (IAPs) or Person-Centred Planning meetings. Contribute to intake assessments. Psychological Assessment Conduct psychological assessments using tools like tests, observations, and interviews. Produce professional, accessible reports summarizing assessment results. Intervention and Support Develop and deliver evidence-based psychological therapies and supports. Monitor, evaluate, and adjust interventions to ensure effectiveness. Refer users to external clinical services as needed. Staff Training and Support Provide guidance and training to staff on mental health, education, and rehabilitation best practices. Offer supervision to Trainee Psychologists, Rehabilitation Officers, and Assistant Psychologists. Collaboration and Governance Work closely with interdisciplinary teams and external agencies. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and service evaluations. Monitor risks and maintain governance and quality assurance standards. Operational Environment This Psychologist role is a multi-site role based in the below locations: NLN Donegal, NLN Sligo and NLN Leitrim. Optional to negotiate the base.
