Job Summary
:
In this role, the individual will be a key member of the Global Strategic Sourcing Team for Drug Delivery Devices business. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining strategic sourcing plans and strategies that are directly supportive of global strategic sourcing business objectives and professional/ethical business practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical and sourcing experience in electromechanical medical devices working with component suppliers as well as external manufacturing partners. This Director will implement these agreed strategies, lead negotiations and supplier relationship management as well as the deployment of other key programs for the electronics & EMS categories.
Partner with the Senior Director Strategic Sourcing and other functions to ensure Supply Risk Mitigation programs are in place to ensure continuous supply assurance. Provide regular updates to West leadership on the macro and industries/products/applications driving market changes for the relevant categories.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop strategic sourcing strategies which align the long-term goals of the business. Identify and assess supplier risks and clearly present proposals to mitigate risks collaboratively, ensuring sustained product supply-quality-compliance.
2. Perform supplier relationship management to ensure continuous improvement and innovation, best in class pricing, product and service quality, continuity of goods and services, and alignment with internal stakeholders and company strategies. Build strong relationships with key decision makers for all strategic suppliers within the allocated responsibility.
3. Develop and maintain supplier network with key and potential to support the changing requirements of the business.
4. Lead competitive bid processes including RFI’s, RFP’s and negotiations for components and EMS services to provide increased value to the business.
5. Provide proactive management of critical issues with suppliers. Inform and coordinate communication with with key stakeholders on major supplier issues with recommendations for resolution.
6. Build and keep up a trustful and collaborative relationships with cross functional peers. Align cross functional targets as to balance resources.
7. Lead supplier specific cost improvement programs yielding at least yearly cost reduction targets.
8. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, and procedures.
9. Lead all other ad hoc analysis and projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications :
10. Bachelor's Degree in Business or related technical degree required
11. Master's Degree MBA preferred
Work Experience:
12. Minimum 10 years (Dir) Progressive business experience in sourcing / supplier / category management or related functions. Technical knowledge of electronic component required
13. Medical Device manufacturing experience preferred

Travel Requirements:
30. Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
31. Sedentary exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to life, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
