Who we are looking for
Highly skilled and motivated engineer to participate in one or more Charles River IMS modules or components of an Agile scrum team. Provide engineering troubleshooting assistance to customer support teams and other development teams within Charles River.

The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created the first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha that was launched in 2019.
As a Principal level Software Engineer, you will:

7. Extensive Java n-tier application experience (emphasis on back-end development, core Java and multi-threading preferred)
8. Strong SQL skills with considerable experience with an RDBMS like Oracle or SQL Server
9. Strong with OO design and development
10. Hands-on experience with Web Services
Education and preferred qualifications:
11. Several years of professional software development
12. BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent field
13. Knowledgeable of commercial software development, proficient in developing multi-tier solutions
14. Must have experience in cloud native application development. Preferably exposure to Kafka, Snowflake, Kubernetes, Angular, JavaScript and Java.
15. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), good interpersonal skills, team player
16. Ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sector (Math background desirable, not required)
Additional requirements
17. Ability to play a key role in developing and supporting commercial software products which were sold to non-technical customers in vertical markets
18. Knowledge of XML/XSL
19. Experience with Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic, or WebSphere
20. Develop test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, or other related software engineering languages as well as keeping abreast of emerging technologies impactful to CRD’s business
21. Solid grasp or algorithms, ability to solve complex heuristic/optimization types of problems
22. 4 to 7 years of experience in financial services developing solutions for Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR or Wealth Management is strongly desired
