Position: Site Financial Controller
Reporting to: Reporting to : Regional Finance Director, UK & Ireland

Scope of the Role
The Cork Financial Controller role will be based in Cork, reporting to the Regional Finance Director UK & Ireland. The role will entail the management and development of the local site finance team, ensure site financial controls are robust, and ensure accurate monthly and fiscal reporting for the site.
The position will also act as a key business partner to the Operational Site Managing Director and management team, ensuring appropriate financial controls are being adhered to, challenging where deemed necessary and ensuring all have a good understanding of the P&L and Balance Sheet, including the actions required to control costs and drive performance to enhance margin.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure a robust financial control and ensure that the site complies with the MM Accounting Policies and Standards
Preparation of the site monthly control file and trial balances to ensure no financial risk to the business.
Prepare month end financial reports, P&L and Balance sheet with monthly exception reporting.
Intercompany and bank month end reconciliations.
Analysis of production costs, material variances. Ensure that standard costs are maintained and implemented across the product range in the manufacturing site. Fourth Shift & Vision costing audits, and support periodic lot size and overhead assumptions review.
Drive site Gross margin and Non-productive spend initiatives
Preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets in line with the MM published timetable
Drive working capital improvements including cash collection and inventory management
Daily production reports and weekly RM and consumables consumption analysis
Preparing general ledger entries and supporting documentation and reconciliation of monthly GL and subledgers.
Preparing and submitting of CAPEX proposals and follow up on actual spend v authorised.
Liaising with warehouse team to ensure robust blind cycle inventory counts and detailed analyses of results – daily level review of scrap and stock-take postings.
Management and development of the finance team members.
Identify and drive improvements in accounting systems and processes.
Financial Accounting:
Preparation of a number of Recurring and Non-Recurring Monthly Journals with appropriate backup documentation (including Accruals & Prepayments postings).
Preparation of a number of Balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate backup documentation.
Maintain Fixed Asset Register – updating for additions, disposals and depreciation.
Analysis of P&L and B/S General Ledger accounts as required.
Analysis and posting of Credit Card expenses.
Assist with Control file preparation, reports and check list.
Management Accounting:
Sales Reports Preparation and Reconciliation.
Assist with Job Costing - job level analysis, variance investigation and job closing.
Key Skills and Experience
Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, Chartered)
Proactive problem solver, with proven ability to manage integration projects and motive employees for the journey ahead
An effective and dependable team who can work unsupervised and provide support at crucial reporting times.
Experience of implementing and maintaining strong financial controls.
Flexible to respond to changing priorities and issues, able to multi-task, work on multiple concurrent projects
Culturally aware, with excellent communication skills and ability to work with all levels with the company and able to demonstrate strong organisation skills, possess a high degree of numeracy and have good analytical skills.
Strong local legislation knowledge and cost accounting process/implementation experience
Highly proficient with Microsoft suite.
Previous experience & detailed knowledge of ERP systems
Positive “can do” attitude, with enthusiasm to “make a difference”.
