Senior Product Design Engineer
Location: Clonmel, Ireland (Hybrid Work Position)

Department: Vessel Closure (VC) within R&D
Position Summary: The Senior Product Design Engineer will play a key role in our R&D team, focusing on the mechanical and industrial design of new and existing on-market products. This role involves delivering the design aspects of new product development programs to meet strategic objectives and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead the Clonmel-based VC R&D team in product design activities for both new and on-market VC products.
•Provide product design-focused technical direction to cross-functional teams.
•Liaise with stakeholders and senior management to ensure the successful delivery of R&D programs.
•Collaborate with internal and external partners, ensuring clear understanding of expectations and deliverables.
•Ensure timely delivery of R&D programs.
•Lead the VC R&D team in planning and executing complex product development programs from conception to launch.
•Manage product builds and testing as required.
•Prepare for and lead cross-functional team design and technical reviews with senior management.
•Develop and source appropriate materials and technologies for medical device design and construction.
•Provide technical guidance and direction to R&D program team members.
•Generate and maintain technical documentation in line with the Quality Management System and regulatory requirements.
•Build and develop product design knowledge and capability within the VC R&D team.
•Incorporate state-of-the-art design solutions into product development activities.
•Provide regular input, updates, and direction to staff on technical topics and issues.
•Perform other related duties and tasks as required.
Education and Experience:
•NFQ Level 8 qualification in a product design-related discipline with 5+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
•Proven track record of successfully leading product design and development activities from conceptualisation to commercial launch.
•Good working knowledge of medical device materials and processes.
•Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
•Significant working knowledge of technologies for prototype design and generation.
•Demonstrated analytical problem-solving abilities.
•Demonstrated people management skills and experience.
•Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively as a team lead and team member.
