Company Description
At AECOM, we're delivering a better world. Whether improving your commute, keeping the lights on, providing access to clean water, or transforming skylines, our work helps people and communities thrive. We are the world's trusted infrastructure consulting firm, partnering with clients to solve the world’s most complex challenges and build legacies for future generations.
There has never been a better time to be at AECOM. With accelerating infrastructure investment worldwide, our services are in great demand. We invite you to bring your bold ideas and big dreams and become part of a global team of over 50,000 planners, designers, engineers, scientists, digital innovators, program and construction managers and other professionals delivering projects that create a positive and tangible impact around the world.
Job Description
Are you passionate about improving the environmental performance of infrastructure development projects and helping Ireland to deliver its net zero commitments? If so, we’d love to hear from you at AECOM.
By joining us, you will work daily with technical experts within our established Impact Assessment team which comprises over 170 staff across Ireland and the UK. We are a founding member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) EIA Quality Mark, whilst everything we do aligns with our environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy.
As we are a national team, we are flexible in terms of office location – this includes offices in Dublin, Cork and Galway as well as taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.
Here’s what you’ll do:
1. Provide Expertise: As a Principal Environmental Consultant you’ll manage environmental inputs to EIA Screening and Scoping reports, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, Environmental Considerations Reports and supporting documents, including the technical review of specialist chapters.
2. Ensure Quality: Your role requires a critical eye for detail to ensure that our deliverables are produced to the highest quality standards and compliance with our rigorous quality management procedures.
3. Project Management: Make effective use of your project management skills, appropriately managing resources and budgets (with support as applicable).
4. Collaborate: Work as part of integrated design teams to improve the environmental outcomes of our projects.
5. Client Contact: Manage client relationships and internal supply teams.
6. Growth: Promote AECOM’s environmental services to both internal and external audiences.
If you're passionate about innovation and turning bold ideas into reality, AECOM welcomes you. Join our team, where we don't just construct infrastructure but also uplift communities and enhance lives.
Qualifications
Here’s what we’re looking for:
1. A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (preferably a Masters degree) and an appropriate professional membership (Chartered Environmentalists preferred).
2. Comprehensive EIA consultancy experience, with proven skills in managing the preparation of environmental reports.
3. A detailed understanding of relevant Irish consenting regimes and environmental legislation.
4. The ability to lead collaborative technical teams.
5. Project management skills, including programming, staff resource and budget management.
6. A commitment to innovation and continuing professional development.
7. Efficient verbal and report writing skills, including technical reviewing.
We celebrate diversity, including neurodiversity, and believe it enriches our team. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and abilities.
