Job Description:
A CE Marking Safety Lead Engineer is sought by a blue-chip Medtech company to work within the Equipment Development Engineering group.
The successful candidate will lead a team ensuring the safety of machinery developed and upgraded on site, supporting Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers in designing appropriate safety systems and architecture.
This hire will lead interactions with internal and external specialists to complete equipment-related projects and provide technical leadership on equipment safety product and process issues.
Responsibilities:
Perform risk assessments for manufacturing equipment built internally, assess equipment for electrical and functional safety compliance, and conduct safety control system reviews.
Compile CE marking technical file documentation, ensure equipment meets safety standards, and support ATEX and FMEA assessments.
Generate reports documenting any safety issues found, provide input into equipment redesign, and work closely with internal engineers to understand safety requirements.
Work with internal and external machine builders to ensure equipment is built according to site safety specifications, review vendor-built equipment, and provide incident reports to senior management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or EH&S discipline, 5+ years' experience in a similar role, particularly with CE Marking equipment experience.
Machine safety qualifications such as CMSE or CECE desirable, strong communication and organisational skills combined with problem-solving abilities.
Depth of experience in electrical and mechanical engineering, including reading and interpreting drawings.
