The successful candidate will act as a key member of the IRFU kitchen team, delivering high quality service in a High Performance environment.
The position is being offered on a full-time, fixed term contract basis. The role will be based at our High Performance Centre, Sport Ireland Campus, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.

POST TITLE: HPC Kitchen Porter
ROLE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Kitchen Porter will act as a key member of the IRFU kitchen team, delivering high quality service in a High Performance environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
General areas of responsibility include:
Carrying out basic cleaning tasks as fast as possible
Collecting and washing up after large scale meal preparation
Washing cutlery, utensils, and cookware so the kitchen staff has constant access
Ensure full kitchen and lounge areas are cleaned regularly and suitable for squads and staff to operate from
Making sure work surfaces, floors and walls are always clean and sanitized
Be responsible for regular deep cleans and stock takes based on the needs of the kitchen
Pay attention to daily checklists for cleaning and organizing of service areas
To take in incoming deliveries, in adherence with HACCP and storing away the produce
To work with the chef assisting in food preparation
To take ownership of daily sustainability tasks
KEY QUALITIES
Previous experience working in an extremely fast paced kitchen is a must for this position
Ability to take initiative and manage workload through a workday
Confidence in your ability to manage time and prioritize daily requests from the chefs to ensure smooth transition between meal services
Proactive attitude and ability to plan ahead to help the kitchen staff deliver the quality needed for professional athletes.
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Good English and communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
HACCP training a plus, but will be provided if necessary
To have an open mind and an interest in learning

Maintain effective relationships with various staff within the HPC & the IRFU as a whole
Establish efficient and effective work practices
Identifying and recommending new ways to improve current work areas
Portray a competent and professional image of the IRFU
