This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:
Identifies, tracks, monitors, and manages potential cybersecurity incidents. Researches threat intelligence, vulnerabilities, campaigns and indicators of compromise to apply effective Incident Response in real world scenarios.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor and investigate SIEM alerts
* Analyze logs and malware samples
* Incident response - investigating, responding and escalating to senior analysts
* Incident documentation and case management
* Follow internal processes and procedures
Education and Experience Required:
* Recent Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent work experience) required, preferably in computer science, engineering or related area of study.
* General experience preferred, but not required in relevant technologies, products and customer environments.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Fundamental Cyber and IT security knowledge
* Fundamental understanding of Cyber and IT security risks, threats and prevention measures
* Fundamental understanding of SQL and relevant scripting/programming languages
* Fundamental security system analysis skills
* Fundamental understanding of security standards and best practices
* Fundamental risk assessment and management skills
* Fundamental understanding of networking and network security
* Fundamental understanding of network monitoring and protocols

The Galway site has various business groups located in Ballybrit Business Park including a state-of-the-art Cyber Fusion Centre and a thriving Innovation Centre. The site is located 15 minutes from Galway city, a vibrant and cultural city on the western coast of Ireland.
