The Role
The EHS Process Safety Engineer/Specialist will work closely with the EHS Safety Manager and other technical managers/engineers to drive improvements in existing EHS management systems, including compliance for the Cork site under the COMAH and Seveso regulations.
Responsibilities
* Process Safety, including functional safety, process safety programs (HAZOPS, LOPA etc) and process safety KPIs.
* Carrying out activities and programmes to ensure compliance with ATEX, High Risk Work programs including local and Corporate EHS process safety requirements.
* Supporting the DGSA site requirements.
* Carrying out activities and programmes to ensure compliance with the sites ISO 45001:2018/management including local and Corporate EHS management programmes.
* Leading/interacting with regulatory bodies on regulatory compliance programmes and future change requirements.
* Measuring, monitoring, and evaluating site Health and Safety performance, according to established programs and driving continuous improvement.
About You
Essential:
* Degree/Diploma in Process Safety and a recognized Degree/Diploma in H&S or suitable engineering/science discipline.
* 7 years experience in an EHS position.
Desirable:
* Experience in COMAH and chemical management systems including Air Quality management programs and/or ergonomic industry design principles (machinery/equipment etc).
* Involvement in major infrastructural projects from contractor management - compliant operation.
* Strong experience in regulatory interactions on regulatory licensing applications and liaisons.
* Demonstrated project management, program management and multi-tasking ability in large industry.
* Specialist in H&S legislation and best practice in large scale industry.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent technical report writing skills.
* Ability to prioritise work and work independently on technical/regulatory requirements.
* Ability to work to meet scheduled timelines.
* Flexible and constructive approach to problem solving.
