The Opportunity
A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Accountant who has the energy, enthusiasm and drive to “make tomorrow happen” at Glanbia Business Services (GBS). This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract and will report to the Financial Accounting Team Lead.
The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced, innovative environment where there is a key focus on continuous improvement, while delivering high quality, reliable services to other divisions within Glanbia.
1. Responsible for posting high volume bank transactions to the nominal ledger and ensuring accuracy on a daily and weekly basis.
2. On a daily basis complete bank reconciliations of high transaction volume accounts
3. Completion of multiple payment runs by running SAP programs to select vendors for payment and transmission to authorisers
4. Support with payment of urgent business critical transfers
5. Complete manual input bank transfers following relevant controls.
6. Respond to payment queries and issues in a timely manner
7. Deliver payment improvement initiatives identified to reduce costs and increase productivity
8. Supports the payments team in ensuring all relevant Payment policies are implemented and adhered to
9. Maintains a strong set of financial controls ensuring that their area of responsibility is compliant with the group policy
10. Provide support for new payments systems
11. Develop a close working relationship with the Finance team in the business unit and across Glanbia
12. Provide payment reporting and support to business units across Glanbia
13. Manage the day to day delivery of all tasks in line with the service level agreement
14. Intercompany reconciliations and Fixed asset accounting monthly.
15. Ad hoc work as required in the role to include systems testing and participation in project roll-outs
The Requirements & Skills you will bring to the team
16. Experience gained in a similar role in a multinational business environment.
17. High degree of computer literacy with experience in MS Office (Excel) essential and SAP knowledge preferable
18. Experience with Blackline is preferable but not essential
19. Excellent data analytical skills
20. Ability to work with high volume transactions and meet tight deadlines.
21. Excellent communicator with experience in engaging with customers, colleagues, Senior Management and external service providers.
22. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
23. Self-starter capable of working in a close knit team
24. Enthusiastic and willing to learn about company systems and procedures
25. Experience with SAP is desirable but not essential
