Our client, a Public Sector body, is seeking a Transport & Logistics Project Manager to lead their initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing an effective transport plan for the region.
Main Areas of Responsibility
* Lead on Stage 2: Design, trial, and prepare for tender, ensuring operations align with project objectives, standards, and requirements.
* Establish and lead a Stakeholder Consortium: Consist of key stakeholders to ensure decisions made throughout the project are aligned to project scope and objectives.
* Develop Service Specification Framework: Define clear criteria and standards for transport access and compliance, including resource management, to ensure a safe, reliable, cost-effective, and transparent methodology meeting the needs of all service users.
* Rout Optimization & Technology Integration: Leverage technology experts and trial advanced route optimization technology to improve scheduling, reduce inefficiencies, and maximize resource allocation for inclusion in the tender preparation.
* Resource Coordination: Collaborate with Section 38/39 Agencies who are vehicle owners to consolidate resources under a unified framework, evaluating existing fleets and developing replacement programs, health and safety compliance, and accessibility standards.
* Develop a process to create ongoing capacity and waiting list management systems integrated with resource planning tools.
Key Responsibilities
* Consolidate resources and streamline fleet management in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and accessibility standards.
* Evaluate the current fleet and develop a sustainable, energy-efficient replacement program.
* Conduct pilot tests to evaluate the operational effectiveness of the transport model, identify challenges, and refine the system based on real-world feedback.
* Finalize the groundwork for procurement by preparing specifications and ensuring the tendering process aligns with the designed model.
