Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Qualified Accountant to join our client as a Senior Financial Accountant on a 12-month contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented professional to provide cover to other Senior Accountants and undertake financial projects across the Financial Management Team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in further developing the finance function within the Agency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and approve grant payments and payments to creditors, ensuring compliance with key internal controls and procedures.
* Assist in budgeting and financial reporting processes.
* Liaise with Auditors as required.
* Contribute to routine and non-routine financial projects as necessary.
* E nsure all tasks meet internal and external audit requirements in terms of timing, quality of information, and compliance with procedures and controls.
* Implement procedures and processes to ensure timely internal (Executive Committee & Audit Finance & Risk Committee) and external (Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment - DETE) reporting deadlines.
* Maintain good relationships with key stakeholders, including internal clients, DETE, C&AG, and Internal Auditors.
* Pursue continuous learning and development through informal and formal learning and participation in the Performance Management and Development Review Process.

Requirements:
* A professional accountancy qualification is essential (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
* Excellent project management skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and financial analysis skills.
* Ability to work well under pressure, work flexibly, and independently on own initiative.
* Track record of effective management and training/development of team members.
* A full driving licence is essential.
