Position Summary
The Director of Technical Projects will be a highly motivated individual ready to work within a Technical Operations group consisting of multi-discipline technical background professionals. The Director of Technical Projects will have demonstrated experience implementing technical operation project management processes with a proven track record of delivering complex technical projects.
Roles And Responsibilities
1. Accountable for managing technical operations projects meeting key project deliverables to support Amicus business critical programs and objectives.
2. Establish standardized approach to technical operations project execution.
3. Develop processes to manage project intake and prioritization resulting in a project roadmap aligned to the long-term technical operations objectives.
4. Planning and Scheduling - uses planning tools to ensure complex technical operation projects are managed on schedule and coordinated with parallel activities.
5. Establish project objectives in line with project requirements and ensure goals & timelines are achieved.
6. Implement clear project governance models inclusive of clear project charters, core team identification, decision making and escalation process.
7. Provide direction and vision to project core teams whilst empowering the subject matter experts to execute on project activities.
8. Build clear communication structure between the project team, technical operations leadership and the key business stakeholders.
9. Reporting to management on project/schedule/cost issues.
10. Risk Management – Identifies and categorizes project risks according to impact on scope, budget and schedule. Generates action plans to mitigate risks.
Requirements
Educational Requirements
1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
2. PMP Certified
Professional Work Experience Requirements
1. 8-10 year’s experience in pharmaceutical and/or biopharmaceutical manufacturing of drug substance, with a strong understanding of GMP and regulatory compliance.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
3. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on time and on budget.
Experience And Skills
1. Strong communication skills and the ability to perform effectively in a fast paced, multi-faceted environment.
2. Independent decision-making abilities with strong results orientation.
3. Demonstrated job history of executing complex technical operations projects.
4. Possess a professional attitude and a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
5. Organizational and operational agility, able to operate at all levels of the organization and able to shift priorities successfully.
6. Ability to manage projects involving multiple functional groups without direct reporting authority.
7. Requires mature judgment in problem solving situations.
8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, Manage project actions to completion.
9. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, Problem-solving, troubleshooting.
10. Strong interpersonal skills and good communicator.

Location
Preferred location is Ireland (with a hybrid work approach).
Travel
Travel to country office and/or CMO’s may be required to meet business needs. Approx. 10% travel.
