At our Jamestown site, we operate a modern meat processing facility focused on delivering high-quality products to domestic and international markets. We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team to help maintain equipment and ensure the smooth running of operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on all plant equipment and machinery (e.g., Curing Equipment, Food Packaging Machinery, Conveyors, HVAC equipment, Pneumatics, Hydraulics etc.)
* Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults to minimize downtime.
* Work closely with production teams to ensure machinery operates at optimum performance.
* Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and safety reviews.
* Adhere to health & safety procedures and regulations at all times.
* Respond promptly to breakdowns.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:
* Trades Qualification: Relevant mechanical or electrical qualification required.
* Additional mechanical or engineering certifications are a plus.
Experience:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role, ideally in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
* Strong mechanical knowledge – ability to service and repair a wide range of machinery.
* Availability to do required overtime.
Skills:
* Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
* Strong problem solving skills and the ability to multitask.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
Desirable:
* Previous experience in the meat industry or fast-paced food production.
* Awareness of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP, BRC, etc.).
