Catalyx is seeking an EHS Specialist to join our team and work on our customer site in Cork.
This role will operate on the following Shift Pattern:
3 x 12-hour day shifts (7am–7pm) + 1 x 12-hour make-up day per month
Month 1: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday
Month 2: Thursday/Friday/Saturday (rotating monthly)

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Specialist to join our team in a shift-based role. This position plays a key role in ensuring the health and safety of our operations and employees by implementing and maintaining effective environmental, health, and safety practices. While pharma industry experience is advantageous, we are open to strong candidates from similar backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and effective EHS inductions to new starters and contractors.
2. Develop comprehensive and practical Risk Assessments.
3. Implement and manage risk control strategies in line with legislative and company requirements.
4. Conduct Hazard Assessments and proactively mitigate potential risks.
5. Lead and support Event Investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
6. Review and approve RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statements) in a timely manner.
7. Draft clear, concise, and insightful reports relating to EHS incidents, inspections, and investigations.
Requirements:
1. Qualifications: Higher Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent)
2. Experience: 3–5 years of relevant EHS experience. Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences sectors is an advantage.
3. Strong understanding of risk management principles, hazard identification, and investigation methodologies.
4. Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
5. Practical experience with RAMS, safety inductions, and compliance procedures.
6. Comfortable working independently on a rotational shift pattern.
