Location: Cavan or Kilkenny
Salary: €14 per hour
Your understanding of Infection Control and Safe Work Practices, having current Influenza and COVID Vaccinations (or your willingness to obtain these) will be important ways you can maintain and improve the wellbeing of our residents.
Key Duties:
* Ensure the highest levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting Clients with washing, toileting, dressing, and all other aspects of daily living.
* Assisting Clients in all aspects of their care needs (e.g., physical, emotional, and spiritual) while ensuring comfort and dignity.
* Paying particular attention to assisting Clients with limited mobility or physical/learning difficulties, utilizing aids provided.
* Closely monitoring Clients who may be confused and/or have behavioral problems.
* Assisting in the promotion of continence.
* Assisting in the delivery of care for Clients who are dying or have a progressive illness.
* Assisting in the framework of social activities by interacting with clients and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the care center.
* Answering the Nurse call system, providing assistance as required, and responding appropriately to the door and telephone.
* Under the supervision of senior Care Staff, report on the wellbeing of Clients.
* Carry out regular checks on Clients at intervals determined by senior Staff Members.
* Make Visitors feel welcome and provide refreshments/assistance as needed.
* Make and change beds, ensuring rooms are clean and tidy, and commodes are emptied in line with the Nursing Home's disposal of waste policy.
* Ensure the Nursing Home's resources are used appropriately.
* Clean and maintain equipment used by Clients/Relatives (e.g., wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles) and ensure the Nursing Home is kept clean and tidy.
* If applicable, care for clients' clothing and rooms, ensuring all clothing is recorded and clearly marked.
* Ensure full privacy and dignity is maintained for the dying and the bereaved, in line with the company's policies and procedures.
* Assist Clients during meal times, being aware of swallowing difficulties and dietary requirements.
* Escort Clients traveling to and from the Nursing Home (e.g., on social outings, hospital visits).
* Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with Clients' personal and financial affairs, avoiding abuse of the privileged relationship that exists with Clients.
Required:
* Genuine interest in working within a Caring Environment.
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Willingness to be a team player.
* FETEC/NFQ 5 or equivalent and a willingness to participate in training and development.
