Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Tax Technician to join the busy Tax Department in a supporting role to the Tax Manager. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys structured work, has experience in personal tax, and is looking for a stable role within a friendly and professional environment. You’ll play a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the department, supporting with compliance tasks and client queries.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the preparation of income tax returns for individuals, sole traders, and partnerships
2. Input financial data into tax systems and maintain organised client files
3. Support the Tax Manager with compliance tasks and Revenue correspondence
4. Help gather supporting documentation and respond to client queries (under supervision)
5. Carry out basic research using Revenue guidance and online resources
6. Handle administrative duties such as file management and scheduling
7. Ensure internal procedures are followed, especially around confidentiality and data protection
8. Maintain a strong understanding of current Irish tax legislation through training and practical experience
Requirements:
1. Experience preparing or assisting with income tax returns in a professional setting
2. A relevant qualification or studying towards a tax/accountancy qualification is desirable
3. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
4. Good organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
6. Clear and professional communication skills (written and verbal)
7. A team player who enjoys supporting others and working in a structured environment
8. Must be eligible to work in Ireland
Desirable:
Familiarity with TaxPro, DRIVE, Virtual Cabinet, and intermediate Excel would be an advantage, though full training will be provided.
Salary / Benefits:
1. Competitive salary: €35,000 – €40,000, depending on experience
