Job Purpose
We seek a Supplier Quality Engineer II on a 12-month defined term basis to join our team based in Galway, Ireland. This role involves managing and supporting a global supply base, working with suppliers across various commodities, and contributing to supplier-related projects within the global supplier quality management network.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams comprising representatives from purchasing, supplier quality, and business units to manage all aspects of supplier relationships.
* Apply technical expertise in commodity management to support supplier objectives related to quality, cost, and service.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focusing on quality systems, service capability, and total cost of ownership throughout the supply chain.
* Investigate material quality issues, working closely with quality, procurement, and business units to resolve problems and disposition products.
* Promote the adoption of quality systems among suppliers.
* Work with internal stakeholders to ensure that components meet established requirements.
* Develop and implement corrective actions with suppliers.
* Provide guidance on applying supplier management system requirements to other functional areas.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of supplier management policies and procedures.
* Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
* Identify and develop new supply sources in collaboration with the procurement team.
* Assess and approve supplier-requested process changes.
* Lead material value improvement projects (VIPs) throughout the supply chain.
Requirements
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Technology (Level 8).
* 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent, with direct experience in a QA environment (preferably GMP regulated).
* Experience in the medical device industry is advantageous.
* Experience on automated/high-volume production lines is advantageous.
