Role Overview
The Endpoint Security Team provide Operational Support to the business by managing the Security of all Endpoints, Privileged Access Management, Database Security, Incident Management and SIEM configuration/onboarding. This role is primarily responsible for assisting the Senior Security Engineer’s with the following:
* Help manage the optimisation, integration and customisation of security technologies within the Security Operations department
* Assist the Senior Security Specialist in endpoint Security tasks and assist the Endpoint Security Team
* Have a good security focus and understanding of security Technologies
* Any other duties as assigned by the manager
Would suit someone with a strong technical background, who can draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience, to help drive remediation. This position is primarily to assist and optimise the Security Operations team, with a focus on continuous improvement and to seek opportunities to exceed expectations.
Team Background
This role sits within our Endpoint Security team and reports to the Endpoint Security Manager.
This team has oversight/responsibility for:
* Providing Privileged Access Management.
* Log source onboarding for the SIEM.
* Database Security
* EDR and Antivirus Security tools management.
The main goals are to provide security to the business, manage the change agenda, avoid incidents and to reduce the impact and scope when they do occur. Technologies we support include CyberArk, Mcafee DSS, Trellix AV, MS Defender, Fireeye HX (EDR), Fireeye NX (SIEM), Trend Deep Security.
What you will help us to achieve
In this role you will be responsible for:
* Support and administration of security technologies that Endpoint Security support and services that maintain the business applications and IT services.
* Management of the incident queue for Endpoint Security team
* Responding to incident and problem management efficiently and effectively documenting lessons learned and future prevention.
* Carrying out technology deployments, building and deploying new Security infrastructure
* Maintaining and promoting security policies, standards and awareness.
* Any other duties as assigned by your manager
* Being mentored by more senior security engineers to develop in the role.
* Supporting the project agenda for Cyber and H&I programmes.
What you will need to be successful in the role
This role would suit someone interested in supporting endpoint Security tools solutions and processes, with the ability to drive the business towards onboarding of new data sources.
* 1-3 years’ required working in IT and preferably in an information Security role
* IT Degree or equivalent preferably in an information security related field
* Experience in developing and improving processes, plans and playbooks.
* Strong knowledge of security principles and best practices in multiple security domains, such as privileged account management, identity and access management, network security and endpoint security.
* A strong technical background, across multiple domains.
* Broad experience across all elements of the technology delivery life cycle.
* Ability to define, develop and report on key security metrics and KPI’s.
* Knowledge of information security and risk control frameworks such as COBiT, ISO 27001, ISO 27002, GDPR, OWASP, NIST.
