Microbiology Team Lead
We are seeking an experienced Microbiology Team Lead to support the scale up of production operations at our vaccine manufacturing facility in Ballina, Mayo. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the growth of our company.
About the Role
* Support the efficient processing and accurate reading/reporting of microbiological samples to deliver high-quality products to the global vaccine, oncology, and therapeutic industries.
* Ensure regulatory and quality compliance in SOP writing/updating and periodic reviews.
* Be familiar with relevant regulations from European (EP) and American (USP) Pharmacopeia.
* Evaluate areas of individuals' strengths and weaknesses and mitigate these.
* Perform EM, water, microbial limit testing, bioburden testing, and sterility testing using laboratory techniques/cGLP.
* Review and interpret all routine and requested microbiology results.
* Record and tabulate laboratory results and present at management meetings.
* Quality control checks, preparation, and revision of SOPs, qualification/validation of test methods.
Requirements
* Education: Level 8 degree in relevant microbiology discipline; Masters/PhD in microbiology would be advantageous.
* Minimum 3-5 years in regulated GLP environment.
* Previous experience in vaccine manufacturing industry beneficial.
* Exposure to people management, leadership skills, and effective stakeholder management essential.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills required.
