The Galway Bay Hotel is seeking to recruit an Assistant Accommodation Manager to join our busy Accommodation team.

This role involves ensuring the cleanliness of bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas, and promoting a positive image to both customers and colleagues.
Main Duties:
1. Ensure the efficient running of the Accommodation Department in the absence of the Accommodation Manager.
2. Maintain high standards in both bedrooms and ground floor areas.
3. Regularly check bedrooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
4. Manage and control both direct and indirect costs.
5. Manage and delegate tasks to Accommodation Supervisors and Assistants in a professional manner.
6. Lead, motivate, and manage the accommodation team to ensure a high level of performance.
7. Control stock levels and ensure that efficiencies are achieved in stock management.
8. Efficiently manage the staff roster in the absence of the Accommodation Manager.
9. Organise staff training and assist in the recruitment process for the Department, paying attention to manpower planning.
10. Foster positive working relationships with Managers, Heads of Departments, and staff.
11. Ensure Accommodation staff adhere to uniform standards and appearance expectations.
12. Attend and contribute to weekly Heads of Department meetings.
13. Uphold the hotel's Customer Relations policy to enhance guest satisfaction.
14. Ensure that reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests, and any other persons on the hotel premises.
15. Ensure the Accommodation team is trained and equipped to implement the hotel's Green Policy, improving waste management and energy efficiency.
16. Participate in fire and accident drills.
17. Follow all safety rules and procedures at all times.
18. Consult with management before implementing any work practice changes.
19. Implement changes and improvements as directed by management.
20. Continuously strive to improve standards in response to increasing guest expectations.
