QA Engineer Job Description One of our Tier 1 Banking clients are looking for a QA Engineer to join there team in Dublin.
This role is responsible for testing and delivering complex software to accomplish business outcomes.
The QA Engineer is a subject matter expert on testing practices, ensuring that software meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
They help condition and generate test data, build and execute both manual and automated test suites, record and communicate test results, and assist with triaging defects.
They also ensure regression test suites are maintained and well designed.
Responsibilities Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test cases based on functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
Lead test planning, usually at a team level, ensuring stories are well refined with clear acceptance criteria.
Identify in-scope and out-of-scope items during test planning.
Implement the test framework for the team.
Lead test case reviews and work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure test coverage.
Identify automation opportunities and develop test automation for applicable test types.
Help condition and generate test data, ensuring data compliance requirements are met across all test environments.
Execute test cases, including manual and automated tests, and record test results.
Report issues and defects with appropriate background information for review.
Participate in triaging reported issues/defects and assist with resolving or escalating them as necessary.
Create and manage traceability, tracing tests forwards/backwards through the development lifecycle and back to requirements.
Use testing tools and follow processes to complete testing on a given test environment, and assist with fulfilling necessary steps required to promote the code base to higher-level environments.
Maintain and catalogue test suites across test types (Smoke, Integration, Regression, etc.).
Essential Skills Basic knowledge and familiarity with qTest, Jira, Toad (or any other similar tools).
Strong understanding of SQL queries and the ability to manipulate data.
Ability to design and develop manual and automated test plans within an application.
Basic knowledge of automation and continuous delivery practices.
Demonstrates working knowledge of Agile/Waterfall frameworks.
