Hours of work: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week Closing Date: Thursday 27th February 2025 @ 12noon Position Summary: Post of CNMII with the Pain Management team in Beaumont Hospital. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Pain Team, working closely with the CNS, cANP and RANP in Pain Management.
Responsibilities
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:• The CNMII in Pain Management will work with the CNS, cANP and RANP in Pain Management in the safe management of acute and chronic pain patients attending Beaumont Hospital. • The addition of a CNMII to work together with the CNS, cANP/RANP will facilitate the continuance of the following nurse led servicesNurse Led Clinics/Services • Neuropathic pain service with Capsaicin 8% treatment • Intrathecal Baclofen Pump Service• Spinal Cord Stimulator programming, monitoring and educational Service.• Infusion Service for the management of generalised pain (St Joseph’s Hospital Raheny)• Telephone Review Service – Patient Outcomes post Nurse Led Interventions• OPD Nursing Review Clinics• Acute post-operative pain interventions (PCA and Ward Based Epidural Infusion) service
Qualifications
Selection Criteria:Selection criteria outline the qualifications, skills, knowledge and/or experience that the successful candidate would need to demonstrate for successful discharge of the responsibilities of the post.Applications will be assessed on the basis of how well candidates satisfy these criteria. Mandatory:1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:(i) Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwivesmaintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) (BordAltranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.(ii) Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregrate of 5 yearsfulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the specialityor related area.(iii) Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly dischargethe functions of the role.(iv) Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.(b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard ofsuitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge thefunctions of the role.2. Annual registration(i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevantdivision of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing andMidwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).(ii) Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual PatientSafety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).3. HealthCandidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable ofundertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate areasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.4. CharacterCandidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character. DesirableExperience working with patients experiencing acute and/or chronic pain. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
