Excellent employment opportunity for an experienced Tendering Manager to join a team based in Kildare that is a leader in Medium and High Voltage engineering services domestically and across Europe.
The candidate will be responsible for preparing, managing, and submitting competitive bids for engineering projects. This role involves close coordination with various departments to gather necessary information, analyze project requirements, and develop cost-effective solutions that meet client specifications and standards.
Timely presentation of accurate and professionally delivered tenders and quotations is an integral part of the company's strategy and growth projections, as well as maintaining and developing client relations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the entire tendering process from initiation to conclusion.
2. Build and maintain relationships with key clients and ensure that tender invitations are captured and recorded.
3. Ensure that the tender folders are maintained and that all relevant team members are informed.
4. Compile precise and well-organized submissions in a timely manner.
5. Ensure all aspects of tenders, including technical, financial, and contractual, are submitted and processed on time; follow up on tenders and documents, and record any feedback.
6. Issue tender queries and prepare tender reports.
7. Lead tender risk reviews.
8. Negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors.
9. Oversee the maintenance of the cost database.
10. Build and maintain relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.).
11. Stay informed of developments in the industry.
12. Establish and implement quality procedures to ensure a high standard of quality control produced by the Tendering Department.
13. Manage and mentor members of the Tendering Team.
14. Report the status of the tenders/estimates/quotations including analyses of tender outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. 5+ years’ experience in a commercial role.
2. 10+ years’ experience in a senior role in a MV / HV organisation.
3. Experience in either the Irish or UK market.
4. A minimum of a Level 8 Degree in a relevant qualification, such as Electrical Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
5. Excellent project management and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
6. Strong understanding of budgeting, cost management, and financial analysis.
7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
