We are delighted to be partnering with our esteemed client, a leading global financial services firm, to find a skilled and experienced Fund Accounting Director specializing in Private Equity and Hedge Fund Accounting. This is a remote-based position based in Dublin.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the fund accounting team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, workflow management, and performance optimization.
* Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, investor reports, and capital calls for private equity and hedge fund clients.
* Ensure that all accounting activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and investor agreements (including IFRS, GAAP, and local tax regulations).
* Collaborate closely with senior management to drive strategic initiatives and process improvements in fund accounting.
* Manage the preparation of Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations, performance reports, and monthly/quarterly reporting for hedge funds and private equity funds.
* Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, auditors, and custodians, to ensure timely and accurate fund reporting and address any inquiries or concerns.
* Oversee the reconciliation of fund accounts and cash management, ensuring accuracy in the accounting of investments, capital distributions, and investor transactions.
* Act as a key point of contact for both internal teams and clients, offering expert guidance on complex accounting matters and regulatory issues.
* Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of excellence.
Key Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred).
* A minimum of 8 years of experience in fund accounting, with a focus on Private Equity and Hedge Fund Accounting. At least 5 years in a leadership or director-level position.
* Strong understanding of the unique accounting, reporting, and regulatory challenges within private equity and hedge fund environments.
* Expertise in the preparation of financial statements, NAV calculations, performance reporting, and other fund-related documentation.
* In-depth knowledge of fund structures, capital calls, investor allocations, and portfolio valuations.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with fund accounting software (e.g., Investran, eFront, or similar systems).
* Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to drive results and manage a team in a dynamic environment.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify and resolve complex financial issues.
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
