BROTHERS OF CHARITY SERVICES IRELAND - WEST REGION POST OF PERMANENT FULL-TIME INSTRUCTOR/SUPERVISOR CLARIN SERVICES, CLARINBRIDGE, CO. GALWAY JOB REF: 76548 Location: Clarin service is based in the Clarinbridge/Ballindereen area of Co. Galway and is roughly 15kms from Galway city.
We provide day and residential services and individualised services to adults with varied support needs, based on personal outcome measures.

The role: The successful candidates will be involved in the development of a day service provision in Clarinbridge.
The successful candidate will also be involved in the implementation of an educational, social, vocational, recreational and personal development programme for adults with an intellectual disability.
In line with new directions and extended opening hours the successful candidates will also be responsible for providing family support, coordinating social groups and evening activities and providing one to one supports in the community as required.
The successful candidates will also have responsibility in a key worker role for the people supported by the services to form links and interests and partnerships with other community groups.
For this role the individual will work with adults with Autism with some complex needs.
Therefore the instructor will also be responsible to support individuals with all aspects of personal care required during the day.
This includes supporting individuals with their meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being, to the extent required by the individual.
Reporting/Responsible To: Team Leader/Manager, Service Coordinator/Area Manager Works With: People supported by the Services and Families, Multidisciplinary Team, Team Leader, Service Coordinator/ Area Manager, Frontline Staff, GRETB Tutors and also networking with other groups and agencies in the community.
Qualifications/Experience: Candidates should have a Level 7 qualification relevant to the health service or Community Studies in Business and Enterprise or in Arts and Drama and have at least 1 years' experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities.
Experience of supporting people with Autism and having experience of supporting individuals whom can display behaviours that challenge is an essential requirement for this post.
Experience in either arts, sports, drama, music involvement or having links and experience with community groups and participation is essential and the candidate should have a specific interest or experience in the area of person centred supports.
A full clean Driver's Licence is essential.
Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.
Working Hours: 78 hours a fortnight is based on a 7 day duty roster.
The normal working hours will be Monday - Friday but these posts will also involve occasional evening work and occasional weekend work to meet the needs of people we support.
Contracted hours of work be from 8am to 8 pm over 7 days to meet the requirements of the programme.
The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
Annual Leave: 22 days per annum.
Remuneration: € 34,081 x 12 increments - € 49,864 per annum.
Tenure: One position is permanent, full-time and pensionable with initial assignment is Clarin Day Services Kilcornan Clarinbridge Probation: A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post.
The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment.
The probation period may be extended at the Employer's discretion.
