Role Overview: As a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in assessing, planning, and implementing rehabilitation programs for older adults recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. Your focus will be on enhancing patients quality of life and promoting independence in a hospital rehabilitation setting. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs. Develop individualized treatment plans that promote functional independence. Work closely with Multidisciplinary Teams, including Physiotherapists, Nurses, and Medical Staff. Support discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition back to home or community settings. Provide manual handling and equipment recommendations to enhance patient mobility. Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with best practice standards. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on rehabilitation techniques and adaptive strategies. Essential Requirements: Degree in Occupational Therapy Must have full CORU registration. Experience working in a rehabilitation setting Experience working with individuals who have a range of neurological conditions. Documented evidence of Continuing Professional Development Irish Driving Licence Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment.
