Overview
We are looking for a Laboratory Lead to join a leading pharmaceutical company's laboratory team.
In this role, you will provide leadership and support to the team, oversee lab operations, and ensure compliance with GMP standards.
You will play a key role in managing daily lab tasks, organizing resources, and ensuring that all technical services run smoothly.
Job Description
As a Laboratory Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities within the lab, providing support to team members, and ensuring the successful progression of tasks.
Your role will involve managing equipment, supplies, and samples while maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards.
You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of laboratory activities.
Key Responsibilities Report on the progression of tasks and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Prepare media, buffers, and analytical reagents for laboratory use.
Delegate tasks effectively within the team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient task completion.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including autoclaving and part washer operations.
Clean and maintain laboratory equipment such as incubators, Biosafety Cabinets (BSCs), and water baths.
Ensure proper organization and tidiness of the lab environment.
Manage inventory by ordering consumables and raw materials.
Oversee sample receipt, shipping, and vendor Preventative Maintenance (PM) management.
Support analytical testing across a variety of methodologies.
Assist with bioreactor builds and routine equipment calibration (e.g., pH meters, balances).
Conduct stock checks and manage inventory, ensuring supplies are available as needed.
Review process data integrity to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a Technical Services, Microbiology, or Biochemistry laboratory.
At least 1 year of relevant supervisory experience.
Strong knowledge and practical application of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Experience documenting and recording scientific studies, with an understanding of data integrity and electronic lab notebook systems.
Demonstrated experience in maintaining laboratory safety standards.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
