EHS Officer required for large scale Pharmaceutical construction project in Co Dublin. As part of the projects team you will play a pivotal role in implementing and maintaining the safety standards across this site.
As the EHS (Environmental Health and Safety Officer) your key requirements will be:
* Promote safety working practices and ensure the implementation of HSE policy and procedures
* Carry out risk assessments & inspections, and implement appropriate control measures.
* Implement and update EHS control procedures as required.
* Ensure that all projects have been provided with the relevant HSE documentation
* Keep and maintain clear records to comply with company internal and external audit standards
* Ensure that HSE issues are discussed at project review meetings
* Assist client side with risk assessments and sub-contractor evaluations and documentation review when requested
* Deliver HSE training where appropriate and as agreed with the client site
* Ensure that all new equipment, substances and systems of work are properly assessed for any potential risks prior to their introduction
* Suggest, communicate and promote initiatives for incident prevention and forward to Project Manager / HSE & Sustainability Manager for consideration
* Support the Project Manager in Incident investigation
* Keep up-to-date on Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
* Ensure that all accidents and incidents are recorded and investigated with corrective actions agreed.
Requirements
* Relevant third level qualification in Health and Safety and/or relevant experience.
* A number of years’ experience in a similar role in a construction / pharmaceutical / manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
* Thorough knowledge and experience of implementing EHS procedures
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong knowledge of computer software.
