Job Description:
This role presents a unique opportunity to work in cutting-edge data centers worldwide, specifically within Amazon's large-scale high-density facilities. These centers are pivotal in shaping Cloud technology in their respective regions.
A Data Center Technician will be part of the Operations team responsible for maintaining and upgrading the data center infrastructure. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for both internal (e.g., Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, Database Engineers, Technical Operations) and external customers (Hardware Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers).
Key Responsibilities:
* Work against assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow, meeting SLAs
* Act as the first point of contact for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues
* Perform regular server hardware repairs (drives, motherboards etc)
* Conduct routine network, server hardware, and OS-related repairs
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on a regular basis to complete routine tasks
* Engage with Smart Hands in EU Regional POPs
* Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center
* Participate in Data Center power & cooling events
* Attend team meetings for metric analysis and daily/weekly goal achievement
* Identify and create documentation for global use
* Develop process improvements relevant to the data center environment
* Perform server upgrades, rebuilds, scheduled works as required
* Interact with third-party vendors & contractors
* Contribute to the development of other team members
Basic Qualifications:
* High school or equivalent diploma
* Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
* Experience in networking
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Effective experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
