Home Care Supervisor Job Description
The Home Care Supervisor will be part of a highly effective team, will lead, support and develop in conjunction with the Home Care Manager, the healthcare team to ensure the service provided is quality and to a high standard, have strong organisational and networking skills as well as having excellent IT skills. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Report to Home Care Manager.
1. To undertake spot checks with healthcare assistants within the community.
2. To undertake client reviews in relation to the care they are continuing to receive.
3. To update all healthcare staff on company policies and procedures and amendments.
4. Carry out assessments with clients and upload them to the company IT system.
5. Be the liaison for the Company with clients and client families.
6. Ensure all folders in houses are kept in an orderly manner.
7. To arrange with Home Care Manager/Scheduling Team staff shadowing - ensuring Health & Safety policies and procedures.
8. To undertake emergency cover - Rapid response (filling new packages and discharges).
9. To evaluate and monitor the quality of the care delivered to clients and report to the Home Care manager with concerns.
10. Support and assist with care team development.
11. Checking and collecting journal notes from clients' houses with Supervisor.
12. Delivery of Care plans, log sheets and gloves to client's homes when required.
13. Delivery of PPE.
14. To assist in the recruitment of HCAs in conjunction with Home Care Manager and HR department.
Office
1. To update online system documentation i.e., reviews and spot checks.
2. To develop a plan working week with Home Care Manager.
3. To develop a system of completing spot checks with healthcare staff.
4. To be responsible for filing paperwork.
5. To provide support coordinators with uncovered/tasks in emergency if needed.
6. To Attend Weekly Check Ins With Teams As Required.
7. To attend meetings with Home Care Manager on a weekly basis.
Qualifications
1. Have a relevant health or social care background.
2. Full QQI Level 6 Major award in Healthcare Support, or equivalent.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
4. Full clean driving licence and access to a car.
5. Available on a 5/7 weekly schedule.
6. Have excellent interpersonal skills and an empathic approach to people.
7. Good IT skills in Microsoft Office.
8. Be organised and have efficient time management skills.
9. To assist in growing the Region in conjunction with Home Care Manager.
Weekend Tasks
1. Check in with Weekend scheduler.
2. Carer spot checks.
3. Carer appraisals.
4. Cat B sign offs.
5. Shadow call sign off.
6. Carer introduction.
7. Client review and re-assessments.
8. Care Calls If Required Due To Absenteeism.
9. Time management plans on a weekly basis.
