Role Profile This role is based in Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny, Europe's largest multi-purpose integrated dairy plant in Europe.This area in which this role is based is Plant 1 which produces Rennet Casein, Acid Casein and Milk Protein Concentrate (MPC) powders from skim milk. If successful, you will manage the bagging off area where Tirln packs three types of powders into 25kg and 1,000Kg bulk bags. You will also manage the Recon Lactose area where we process around 2,800 tons of Lactose powder. You will report to the Manufacturing Manager in this area. Plant 1 produces over 25,000 tons of milk powders each year, so it is a pivotal part of the entire Ballyragget site. Responsibilities Management of Plant 1 Bag off and Recon Lactose area and rostered weekend cover for Plant 1/ Dairy Promote & implement Best Practice Health & Safety policies and procedures Produce 100% quality product presentation to meet agreed customer and stores requirements Maintain highest hygiene standards in accordance with Company policy in both personnel and plant Manage area in line with GMP and assume responsibility for internal hygiene audits and external customer/third party audits when required Schedule plant activities to obtain maximum throughput in accordance with overall production/planning requirements Manage the staff roster by reviewing production requirements and managing holidays / absenteeism to ensure adequate resourcing of plant Manage staff training plans as required Review and maintain all relevant information to run the bag off area efficiently and to identify trends in quality/process issues including accuracy of information to stores and accurate stock counts of raw materials and finished goods Give feedback on KPI performance through regular communication at 3M Meetings to ensure operators are informed and are aware of plant performance and identify areas for improvement Proactively communicate with operators through informal discussions and team briefs to ensure a two-way flow of relevant, timely information Liaise with all operators regarding any problems and deal with or escalate issues as appropriate Liaise with Supply chain to improve loading standards and configuration Identify and implement process improvements that can deliver maximum benefits to the business using lean manufacturing principles, in line with our BE (Business Excellence) and COVI (Cost Out Value In) approach Comply with all HR policies and procedures in dealing with staff issues Review and close all non-conformances and customer complaints relating to your area of responsibility and assist Supply Chain with other investigations of your products Undertake all other duties as required by manager / business to meet production and customer requirements Develop and coach seasonal operators as part of the Plant 1 Management team Management reporting and meetings Manage projects as required Act as an effective communicator and implementer of change within the plant Requirements Min.
