Job Title: Operational Excellence Manager
Location: Galway
Job Overview:
The Operational Excellence Manager will lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, cost savings, and quality across the organization. This role will drive a Lean culture, mentor cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with ISO, EHS, and FDA standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead Operational Excellence:
* Drive the GROWTTH® program and operational excellence targets through collaborative, cross-functional efforts.
* Manage the annual IMPACT cost-reduction project, utilizing Lean tools like Kaizen, VSM, SMED, A3, and 5S to standardize practices.
* Training & Team Development:
* Enhance Lean and EXCELL Behaviors through structured training, coaching, and mentoring.
* Ensure the continuous improvement team has the necessary skills and competencies.
* Program Advocacy & Reporting:
* Promote the GROWTTH® program and report on progress
* Resolve team management issues per company policies and maintain a positive team culture.
* Compliance & Safety:
* Ensure initiatives align with QMS, OH&S, Environmental, and Energy Management (ISO 13485, ISO 45001, ISO 14001) standards.
* Lead EHS and risk assessment efforts, ensuring health, safety, and regulatory compliance in all activities.
* Professional Development:
* Stay current on operational excellence best practices and adapt accordingly.
* Undertake additional duties as assigned, aligning with management.
Qualifications:
* Education & Certifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced Lean certification (MSc, Black Belt) is preferred.
* Experience:
* 10+ years in medical device manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in operations excellence.
* Proven experience with ISO standards (ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) in a metric-driven environment.
* Skills:
* Strong leadership, Lean expertise, and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Kaizen, VSM, SMED, A3, and 5S.
