Responsibilities
* Manufacture, repair and service all tools – ability to dismantle, clean, repair and reassemble multi-impression tooling.
* Attend mould breakdowns to identify the root cause and solve problems including flashing conditions, gating, venting and cooling issues.
* Use machinery such as lathes, presses, milling machines and grinders.
* Work effectively with all team members to assist in continuous improvement.
* Carry out preventative maintenance on tooling as per PM schedule.
* Perform any other duties as assigned by the Maintenance and Tool Room Manager.
* Maintain moulds as defined in the General Maintenance Procedure.
* Record all maintenance activity in appropriate files and compile reports.
* Support the spare parts inventory system through assigning all parts used and scheduled stock takes.
* Ensure the safety of the working area.
* Implement tool room housekeeping practices.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental and Energy Management systems.
* Follow engineering drawings to measure and mark out the design for the tool.
Profile of the Candidate
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
* Qualified Tool Maker, equivalent with 3-5+ years post-qualification experience in an Injection Moulding Environment.
* Experience with hot runner system maintenance.
* Referenceable track record in problem-solving.
* Experience in a factory environment is an advantage.
* Self-motivated, high energy, positive attitude with initiative for timely completion of goods.
* Excellent practical skills.
* Ability to show accuracy and attention to detail in work.
* Ability to work to high specifications and quality requirements.
* Good hand-eye coordination with an interest and aptitude for engineering and practical work.
