Director of Nursing Position
We are inviting applications for the role of Director of Nursing at Ballinasloe Care Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
* To ensure the delivery of high-quality nursing and social care that meets individual resident needs through implementation of our Quality of Care System.
* Clinical practice in the home to meet Regulations & Standards.
* Maintaining and monitoring clinical practice through individualized plans of care for each resident.
* Conducting internal audits and following up on results.
* Providing initial induction and ongoing training for staff.
* Encouraging innovative practice and adherence to Company and HIQA standards, procedures, and guidelines.
Financial Administration:
* Maintenance of administrative procedures in the absence of the Administrator.
* Monitoring administrative procedures and knowledge of residents' fee income, funding sources, and financial records.
* Management of the Community Units budget and understanding of legislative requirements regarding mentally impaired people's financial affairs.
General Management:
* Leading regular communication meetings with all clinical staff.
* Establishing a good rapport with external community agencies and facilitating resident participation in local community functions/activities.
* Liaising with Marketing to promote the Home's high profile in the local community.
* Monitoring complaints and ensuring thorough investigations and outcomes.
Environment:
* Implementing our Health and Safety Policy to safeguard staff, residents, and others.
* Regular fire training and evacuation planning.
* Maintaining HACCP standards for catering and high-quality variety.
* Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness standards.
* Implementing a preventative maintenance program.
Human Resources Function:
* Participating in staff selection and interviewing.
* Conducting regular training needs analysis.
* Ensuring HR practices comply with current employment legislation.
* Verifying registered nurses' NMBI registration.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
* A qualified RGN with at least 3 years' experience in older person care within the last 6 years.
* A post-registration management qualification in health or a related field.
* No less than 3 years' experience in a management capacity in health and social care.
* Registered on the appropriate part of the NMBI live register.
* A proven track record in healthcare clinical management.
* Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
* Sound decision-making ability and results-driven approach.
* Good appreciation of finance issues.
* Ability to motivate self and others and work independently.
* Ability to work well in a team environment.
* Willingness to be flexible and adapt to company needs.
