Patient Access Site LeaderPermanent Full Time 35 Hours per week Grade 5An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Patient Access Site Leader to join the Bon Secours Hospital in Galway, part of the Bon Secours Health System Ireland’s Largest Private Healthcare provider.Job PurposeThe role of the Patient Access Team Leader is to organise, co-ordinate and manage Patient Access Services for the Hospital. Patient Access Services include Bookings, Medical Records, Admissions and Outpatients.The post holder is responsible for the developing, implementing and managing the daily operations of the patient access departments in the Galway Hospital. The post holder will manage Patient Access initiatives related to point of service collections, insurance verification, patient experience, workflow design and reduction of denials. This position will also work with other leaders to minimize billing issues and unbilled claims for Outpatients. The post holder is responsible for identifying and implementing strategies to improve processes, promote operational efficiency and enhance the patient experienceHe/She will advise and update the Hospital CEO, Head of Finance and other Senior Management and provide operational and financial interpretation and recommendations.The team leader is responsible for leading a team of staff and takes responsibility for all point of service collections within his/her remit and insurance verification in the Hospital.This position ensures that services are delivered in accordance with regulatory, quality and financial standards.Ideal Candidate: Excellent interpersonal, leadership, people management, accountability, and communication skills.Excellent computer literacy skills with extensive experience in using computer systems and applications.Proven track record in effective management and understanding of patient insurance information.Good understanding of finance and business processesExcellent communication skills with a strong negotiation ability and clear presentation and reporting ability.The ability to demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development at the appropriate level.Essential QualificationsAn appropriate third level qualification ideally in Business or Insurance is required.ECDL or related qualificationCompetencies & ExperienceCompetencies:Demonstrated Supervisory and people management skillsService-oriented and proactive team playerAbility to develop strong co-operative working relationshipsWillingness to make decisionAble to motivate and challenge team membersExperience:5 years relevant experience with at least 2 years of supervisory experiences ideally in a healthcare settingProven track record in effective management of patient insurance information, point of service collections and insurance verification.Informal enquiries: Mr Henry Burrows CEO.Closing date for applications: 10/03/2025Bon Secours Health System is an equal opportunities employer
