Job Description The role is predominately the preparation of the annual financial accounts within the timeframe agreed with the client or required by statute.
Also, as required, accurate processing of clients' financial data and the preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts and undertaking the preparation of VAT returns and other VAT compliance.
There is the possibility of ACCA/ACA support in the role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare annual financial statements including statutory accounts predominately under FRS102 and FRS102 1A, partnership accounts, sole trader accounts and trust accounts for tax purposes.
Manage portfolio of clients.
Visit client premises to undertake on-site accounting needs as required.
Prepare and input client transactions into a computerised ledger system, as required.
The preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts for clients, as required.
Preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual VAT returns from financial information supplied by client, if required.
Preparing Intrastat and VIES sales lists for clients.
Where applicable, completion of other tax services including attending to tax registrations, de-registrations etc.
Keeping your manager fully informed of any issues and problems, ensuring the work is completed to a level agreed with the manager and recording clearly and concisely the work carried out.

Judgement - be able to assess a situation and reach a suitable conclusion based on the information available or effectively communicate with a manager where unsure.
Planning and organisation - needed throughout the process to ensure deadlines are met and client portfolios are managed.
Client/Customer focus - develop relationships and gain confidence of client.
Ability to deal with client queries and emails on a timely basis, and have flexibility to work on-site at client's premises if required.
Use of IT – be able to work on bookkeeping packages, accounts production software and Excel.
Teamwork – working with colleagues in the team.
Flexibility – to assist with other ad hoc services that arise from time to time.
Innovative - using technology to create efficiencies in processes.
Technical knowledge – awareness of FRS102, FRS 102 1a and FRS105 Qualifications Education/Qualifications: Strong academic history.
Studying towards ACCA/ACA qualification or, alternatively, evidence of suitable work experience.
Key Experience/Skills: Prior experience of computerised accounting packages including cloud-based software.
Ability to work independently but as part of a wider team.
Results orientated to meet and exceed client expectations, with a key focus on delivering high quality work that consistently meets internal and/or external client deadlines.
Understanding of accounting standards.
Monitoring costs against budget for individual clients.
