We are working on behalf of a leading contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Co Waterford. The successful candidate will work on residential, commercial, education and healthcare projects.
Working from home for part of the week (1-2 days) will be possible.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and cost plans.
2. Prepare tender documents.
3. Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials, labour, and equipment.
4. Manage and negotiate contracts with subcontractors, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines.
5. Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow, providing regular reports to the Commercial Director.
6. Conduct cost analysis and value engineering exercises to optimise project costs.
7. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions, as well as relevant regulations and industry standards.
8. Collaborate with the project team to identify and mitigate commercial risks.
9. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors within the team.
10. Foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
11. Degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor.
12. Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor ideally with a Tier 1 contractors.
13. Excellent knowledge of quantity surveying practices, cost management, and contract administration.
14. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
15. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
16. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
17. Proficiency in creating clear and concise reports and presentations.
18. Familiarity with relevant industry software and tools.
19. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
20. Valid driver's license.
Salary and Benefits:
A salary in the range of €75,000 - €85,000 plus an excellent benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate.
