Clerk of Works Job Description
Based in Tullamore or Kildare, this role is part of a State Body working on major and minor capital works programs.
Main Responsibilities:
* Carry out site inspections as directed to monitor construction, quality, and safety.
* Record and verify materials, certificates, and compliance with contract specifications.
* Measure and record contract variations and conduct level surveys on site.
* Issue weekly Site Inspection reports to the Estates Project Manager.
Key Accountabilities:
* Identify, record, and report construction defects to stakeholders.
* Monitor and assess contract program compliance.
* Liaise with project representatives, engineers, and architects to ensure health and safety regulations are met.
* Inspect building works for compliance with drawings, reports, and Building Regulations.
Additional Duties:
* Report on structure condition, specify repairs, and prepare estimates of cost.
* Supervise repair, construction, securing, or demolition works as directed.
* Issue certificates of compliance and maintain accurate records.
* Undertake duties related to legal proceedings, including attending court and giving evidence.
Requirements:
* Strong understanding of Construction Site Management, Construction management, and Mechanical Engineering principles.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
