Job Description:
The Assistant Supermarket Manager and Trainee Manager will be responsible for ensuring the highest standard of customer service, promoting a harmonious atmosphere, and maintaining the merchandising and presentation of the store.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure customer satisfaction and offer excellent service to all customers.
* Promote a positive atmosphere among customers, suppliers, and team members.
* Maintain the highest standards of store appearance and presentation.
* Manage Points of Sale and contribute to effective Price Perception.
* Communicate operating standards to staff and ensure they understand and implement them.
* Monitor Fresh Food Department performance with the Fresh Food Manager.
* Adhere to stocktaking procedures and coordinate quarterly stocktakes.
* Maintain effective ordering processes and prudent stock management.
* Monitor department overheads and achieve budget targets, including wages.
* Conduct regular staff meetings.
* Provide leadership to Junior Management and staff, and maintain a good working environment.
* Liaise with the management team to achieve weekly gross profit, net profit, and sales targets.
* Develop technical skills and professional knowledge.
* Manage housekeeping to expected standards.
* Assume store manager responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
* Have in-depth knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and their application in the store.
