About Saoirse Domestic Violence Service
We are seeking an Outreach Support Worker to provide a community outreach service supporting clients experiencing domestic abuse, offering prevention and early intervention services and training.
The role involves networking and creating community awareness of referral pathways in relation to domestic violence.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Support women subjected to domestic violence at a safe location, listen to their experiences, and facilitate consideration of options for a safer future.
* Develop and deliver care plans with clients through planned support sessions and encourage active participation.
* Assist families staying in the Safe House Project, including handing over care plans and ensuring implementation.
* Discuss available options and advise on accessing relevant services, developing referral links for local support networks.
* Create community awareness regarding domestic violence and best practices in combating it.
* Liaise with staff across the agency to ensure holistic care approaches and share relevant information.
* Make referrals and liaise with other agencies to provide assistance, advocacy, and support.
Key Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in social care or related field.
* Minimum 2 years' experience working in a social care setting with women/families impacted by domestic violence.
* Excellent knowledge of challenges affecting women and children experiencing domestic violence.
* Risk assessment and safety planning knowledge essential.
Skills
* Experience working with CRM systems desirable.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to work safely alone.
* Full driving license and access to own transport.
