We have a superb opportunity for a skilled Datacentre Operations engineer with strong operational focus and keen troubleshooting skills. This is a great opportunity to join a highly technical company and gain hands-on experience.
In this role:
As part of the DC operations team, you will be working closely with the infrastructure engineering and trading support teams to ensure that the datacentre infrastructure remains inline with Susquehanna's high standards and procedures.
1. Provide first level support in resolving Hardware issues in the Dublin Data Centre’s
2. Provide assistance with system builds, migrations of servers, switches and PDUs.
3. Installing and configuring racks of servers in line with internal SLAs
4. Racking and cabling of Networks Core, Spine, and Aggregate switches
5. Physical replacement of servers, storage and network device parts
6. Ensure correct rotation of parts & spares
7. Ensuring correct labelling, power cords and inventory updates
8. Auditing of all Datacentre hardware and recording all information in a database
9. Circuit connectivity verification and labelling
Maintaining and updating processes and procedures for managing the Datacentre.
What we're looking for:
1. An IT Degree or recognised qualification in a relevant technical discipline
2. 5+ Years experience in a similar IT role.
3. Ability to self-manage, self-motivate, and seek process improvement opportunities
4. Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
5. Knowledge of server, storage and networking hardware
6. Understanding of layer 1 networking would be an advantage
7. Familiarity with networking technologies such as switching and routing and an understanding of TCP/IP protocol suite.
8. Understanding of Datacentre capacity management
9. Hardware auditing and a working knowledge of asset management systems - administration of the stock inventory and asset management (RFID) system.
10. Working knowledge of Windows OS
11. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with various infrastructure and trading support teams to troubleshoot and resolve problems as they happen.
