Quality Manager Brief Overview
This position is responsible for overseeing quality assurance for the installation of building envelope systems on high-tech, mission-critical, and pharmaceutical infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement quality assurance plans and procedures specific to building envelope systems.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits of installation processes to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Monitor and document quality performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality requirements are integrated into project planning and execution.
* Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on quality-related issues.
* Manage and coordinate quality assurance activities across multiple projects and locations.
* Prepare and maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and quality control records.
* Report on quality performance to senior management and clients, highlighting key issues and recommending improvements.
* Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
* Evaluate and approve suppliers and subcontractors based on their quality management systems and performance.
* Conduct audits and assessments of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure they meet project quality requirements.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to promote continuous improvement in quality standards.
* Provide training and guidance to project teams and subcontractors on quality assurance procedures and best practices.
* Stay current with industry trends, standards, and regulations related to building envelope systems and quality management.
* Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization.
Person Specification:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the construction industry, with a focus on building envelope systems.
* Strong knowledge of high-tech, mission-critical, and pharmaceutical infrastructure project requirements.
* In-depth understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, EN standards).
* Proven experience in conducting quality audits, inspections, and managing quality documentation.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
* Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Professional certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, CQM).
* Experience working on large-scale, complex infrastructure projects.
* Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced construction technologies.
Travel Requirements:
* Willingness to travel extensively across Ireland, the UK, and Europe to oversee quality assurance activities on various project sites.
