We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer into our the Power and Utilities team.
This is a hybrid role and offices available are Dublin, Galway, Cork, Sligo and Kilkenny.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
* Preparation of design drawings (Layouts, schematics etc.)
* Use of drawing packages including AutoCad and EPLAN
* Preparation of equipment specifications
* Liaising with clients and third parties
* Design of protection and control schemes
* Preparation of panel schematic drawings
* Proficient in English technical report writing
* Surveys of existing electrical infrastructure installations.
* Development of enduring design solutions in accordance with relevant standards and client requirements.
* Assessment of design hazards in the context of the Health & Safety (Construction) Regulations.
* Producing/reviewing design calculations, drawings, cost estimates.
* Providing technical input and advice to clients in relation to electrical / energy infrastructure projects.
* Exploring opportunities for innovation and sustainability in all aspects of our design.
* Progress reporting.
* Client liaison including presentation of design reports for review and discussion.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
* Electrical Engineering Degree ideally level 8
* Sufficient and appropriate experience
* Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is an advantage; candidates should be seeking to achieve this status if not already achieved.
* Full clean driving licence.
* Familiarity with some or all aspects of HV substations from 10kV to 220kV.
* Familiarity with engineering software packages (Powerfactory, ETAP)
* Familiarity with ESB standards
