Our client requires an Area Sales Manager for the North West. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Retail Stores under your control and the generation of the specified budgeted bottom line profit. You will report to the Sales and Procurement Manager.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Develop a Sales Plan for your allocated Stores.
2. Have an involvement in all related activity in your area and promote best practice.
3. Ensure adherence to the provisions outlined in the Procedures Manual in all aspects of Stores operation.
4. Ensure stock levels are maintained at agreed levels and ensure that the prescribed stock turnover levels are achieved on an annual basis.
5. Identify areas of growth potential and turn these into profitable sales.
6. Ensure that agreed budgets are adhered to and that expected gross margins are achieved across all stock ranges consistently.
7. Take remedial action where budgeted targets are not being achieved.
8. Ensure that the ERP system is used to its full potential and that all prescribed procedures and processes are adhered to.
9. Ensure that all staff are trained to an adequate standard in Customer Service and Merchandising techniques.
10. Facilitate and support organisational change as necessary to maintain competitiveness.
11. Ensure all customer complaints/issues arising are dealt with in a constructive manner.
12. Ensure all staff issues are dealt with in accordance with established practice.
13. Ensure attendance and holiday records are maintained accurately for all employees under your control.
14. Ensure that all appropriate standards are maintained at all times including sales targets, safety, hygiene and housekeeping.
15. Ensure that all Health and Safety and Risk issues are dealt with as a matter of urgency and that a positive Health and Safety culture is developed in your Stores.
Additional Requirements:
1. Third Level qualification or equivalent in appropriate discipline. Good literacy and numeracy skills required. Computer literate.
2. Appropriate retail experience with good knowledge of Agri sector and requirements.
3. Preferably some previous managerial experience in retail environment.
4. Good business acumen and people skills.
5. Ability to drive sales, lead effective teams, strong communication and influencing skills.
