Due to continued growth in our business, we are looking for Sub Agents to join our team to liaise with and assist our Site Agents and Project Managers to ensure construction on projects is carried out in a safe working environment and to a high standard of quality whilst maintaining satisfactory progress against the construction programme. These roles will be based on our projects within the Cheltenham/Gloucester area.
Description:
As a Sub Agent you will be responsible for supervising the site engineering team and ensuring materials and resources are in the right place at the right time to ensure the most effective and efficient standard of construction is achieved. You will work on our highway and infrastructure projects constructing roads, footways and cycleways in urban environments.
Your day to day will include:
* Management of Health, Safety & Environment matters of areas of direct responsibility.
* Management of the site engineering team and sub-contractors to ensure satisfactory progress is achieved against the construction programme.
* Ensure the site team and sub-contractors are working to the latest design.
* Review Method Statements and Risk Assessments and ensure briefings of these are carried out correctly.
* Managing systems to record the quality of work completed, testing, workmanship.
* Manage the technical query process to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries answered.
* Ensure site team daily diary sheets and records are maintained.
* Produce short term programmes in conjunction with site Foreman to ensure the construction programme is achieved.
* Report to and assist Site Agent/Project Manager in producing commercial reports.
* Control and minimise waste on site.
What are we looking for:
* Relevant construction related degree/HNC.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Good team player and mentor for engineering team.
* Good communication skills and ability to clearly communicate key issues to superiors and subordinates.
* Good organisational skills and ability to multitask.
* Good technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
* Good knowledge and experience of engineering setting out best practices and procedures.
* Good working knowledge of construction Contracts such as NEC.
* Understanding of construction cost and value.
* Having integrity by always doing the right thing in the right way.
* Flexible attitude to work.
* Holders of relevant SCS card.
* Holds current driving licence.
