PSYCHOLOGIST

Avista, in partnership with the HSE, is the lead agency of East Limerick Children Services, a Children’s Disability Network Team in Limerick. We are looking for candidates who are committed to supporting children with complex disability needs and their families, in a family and person-centred, community-based, socially inclusive manner in accordance with our core values and ethos, underpinned by quality, best practice, and research.
As a Basic Grade Psychologist, you will join the 0-18 children’s disability network team and engage in practice rooted in a family-centred approach. You will work within a highly motivated team and contribute to collaborative efforts with children, families, and the team. You will provide services in line with interdisciplinary approaches concerning interventions and assessments. ELCS CDNT operates based on principles of Progressing Disability Services within Ireland.
Minimum Requirements:
1. An appropriate post-graduate professional qualification recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Psychology.
2. Qualifications validated by the P.S.I. or other relevant professional body, with proof of validation submitted with the application if the applicant qualified outside the Republic of Ireland.
3. Training and experience in administering assessment tools including ADI-R and/or DISCO; ADOS/BOSA.
4. Full Clean Driving licence and use of a car.
5. Meet the Psychological Society of Ireland and Dept. of Health and Children guidelines for employment as a Staff Grade Psychologist in the Health Services.
6. Interest and experience in working with children presenting with complex disability needs (with or without a diagnosis of autism).
7. Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and effective caseload management skills, along with the ability to work on your own initiative.
